The SmartShunt IP65 is a waterproof all-in-one battery monitor, but without a display. Your phone acts as the display, as the SmartShunt IP65 connects via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect app on your phone (or tablet), allowing you to conveniently read out all monitored battery parameters.
Victron Energy's Smartshunt IP65 is an easy-to-setup, all-in-one battery monitor. It records voltage, current, energy, time remaining, and much more, keeping records and charts of historical data and alarms.
The SmartShunt IP65 is a good alternative for a BMV battery monitor, especially for systems where battery monitoring is needed but less wiring and clutter is wanted. It is equipped with Bluetooth, a VE.Direct port, and a connection that can be used for monitoring a second battery, midpoint monitoring, or a temperature sensor.
Typically, the Bluetooth range is 10-15 meters, which is usually adequate. However, nearby electrically conducting elements like vehicle chassis or seawater can reduce the range further. To address this, you can add a VE.Direct Bluetooth Dongle and deactivate Bluetooth in the SmartShunt.
